Current Projects
Euclid Streetscape & Pedestrian Lighting
Park Central Development is sponsoring the Euclid Streetscape Project for Euclid Avenue between Forest Park Avenue and Lindell -- including new sidewalks, lighting, street furniture, landscaping and public art. Currently, residents have chosen a lighting fixture for the pedestrian lighting along the street. East side should be completed in 2012.
Bike racks and cycling infrastructure
The CWE Midtown Infrastructure Committee has chosen a bike rack design to be implemented in CWE South. Locations and installation will take place in 2012. The committee will also investigate additional cycling infrastructure, including bike lanes.
Patio at Brasserie
Park Central Development is sponsoring the reconstruction of the patio at Brasserie restaurant to allow for better draining of rainwater.
Past Projects
Boyle & Laclede Community Garden
Park Central Development has allocated funds to the start-up of the Boyle & Laclede Community Garden. To find out more about the garden, visit their website here.
Taylor Avenue Lights
Pedestrian lights were installed on Taylor Avenue between Lindell and
Forest Park Parkway. The $330,000 project was funded by various
sources, including $60,000
from Washington University Medical Center, $30,000 from Central West End
South Business District, and $100,000 from block grant. The remaining
funding came from the 17th Ward Infrastructure Funds allocated by
Alderman Joseph Roddy. Organizations contributing to the implementation
of the project include
Park Central Development (formerly Central West End Midtown
Development), Washington University Medical Center, Board of Public
Services, Comptroller’s Office, Community Development Agency, and
Gerstner Electric.
The pedestrian lights make this stretch of Taylor Ave more
attractive and safer for pedestrians at night, and will better connect
Taylor south of Lindell to Taylor north of Lindell, which already has
pedestrian lighting installed. Pedestrian lighting is another initiative
to make the Central West End and the 17th Ward a more walkable,
pedestrian-friendly, and vibrant community.
Cutoff Cobrahead Lights
New cutoff fixtures were installed in cobrahead lights throughout the neighborhood.
Sarah Streetscape

Countdown Signals
